The challenge attracted an overwhelming global response, receiving over 1,350 applications from more than 60 countries. The selection of CoRE Stack among the top finalists highlights its innovation, impact, and relevance in advancing inclusive and responsible AI solutions.
Advancing Digital Public Infrastructure for Rural Landscapes
The CoRE Stack is being developed as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) aimed at empowering rural communities to sustainably plan and manage their landscapes. The platform integrates dozens of datasets generated through machine learning applied to remote sensing data. These datasets are processed through advanced models and user-facing applications that provide actionable insights into landscape conditions, resource distribution, and sustainability planning.
Impact on the Ground
The initiative is already demonstrating real-world impact. In collaboration with partner organizations, the CoRE Stack is currently being used across over 800 villages to support the development of community-driven natural resource management plans. By combining data intelligence with participatory planning, the platform ensures that rural communities are at the center of decision-making processes concerning their land, water, and ecological resources.
This recognition at a global forum reinforces the importance of building scalable, open, and inclusive AI systems that directly serve communities and advance sustainable development goals.
We congratulate the entire CoRE Stack team on this remarkable achievement and look forward to its continued impact at national and global levels.
